This 15-minute talk will explore William Bridges' Transition Management model as an effective tool for understanding and navigating large-scale institutional changes. Yet we are often uncomfortable with change.

Ideas generated from each retreat will be shared throughout the Forum. More than 25 years of work at the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas, and its translational research arm, the Brain Health Performance Institute, will inform this thought-provoking general session. We must transition from monologue lectures to participatory peer experiences that encourage all learners to transform ideas from content to be processed into new concepts and approaches. To achieve maximum cognitive performance, we must design learning experiences that stimulate robust activity in the frontal lobe - the core problem-solving, critical thinking, and judgment center of the brain. As it turns out, that brain has far more capacity for change than we had imagined.
